Missing my Nicolopogus

Its his first time away from home without me. I know this is probably harder on me than it is him. He went to Science camp at Seaworld. Im so proud of him. I want him to have fun, but its just so different with him gone. Tomorrow, he will be home and I look forward to all the stories of his adventure (without me)

Dear Kiddos

Well, I tried, and for the most part think I did pretty okay to get us out and try something new. I just had no idea the cabin in Idyllwild would be the size of a closet. Up until the time we called it a night, I think we had loads of fun. Steve-o you love hiking, you just need to slow down and let us always have you within our sight. Who knows, there could be a rattlesnake or a pedofile hiding behind those bushes. You'll understand when your a parent. And Nick thanks for keeping a close eye on your little bro. Just remember, right now he may still be smaller than you and you can get away with pushing him around, but I have a feeling, he is going to catch up to you sooner than later... All in all, thanks for making my time in Idyllwild extra special.

Oh my god he's a teenager

Well, as of May 9th that is. So the boy wanted to go paintballing again. We did it last year for his 12th birthday and he loved it. This year he brought Zach. I love Zach, so polite and it seems like he's always smiling. For now, I still have some control over who Nick hangs out with, and I approve of Zach. So Tom and I waited at the tables, for 5 hours playing chess, reading, and shopping at Walgreens (its Lake Elsinore what else is there to do) Next year I told Nick I would actually play, but to be honest, being pelted by paintballs and running around in the dirt isnt my cup of tea. At least I have a whole year to prepare for it.

Why Redlands is so cool.

Because they have trees that have "one love" spray painted on them, the weather is always breezy, Sylvan Park is so enormous with ancient vine covered trees scattered throughout, and they have a "Bakers" on every corner. Today Steveo and I paid a visit to Circlebrook and took Josiah his birthday gift, and of course had to visit our old stomping grounds, only Steveo has very few memories of our old Victorian home across from Sylvan Park. We still had fun, I told him all about the park and how we used to go there almost daily when we lived across from it. Who knows, maybe one day we can live there again.

One day you will look back

You will remember the first time you flew a kite. It was at the park on Monroe street. You picked out the best kite, a giant colorful dragon. I got to sit on the grass and snap pictures of you and Tom running with the kite, watching how high it could go. Once you got the hang of it, you ran with the biggest smile on your face.
